Impulsion — Cyrus MATBOO

Scientific rigour.
Put to real-world use.

I'm a data science engineer. I design bespoke methods and tools for climate and environmental actors, public and private alike — from field need to operational deliverable.

Data science · spatial modelling · applied AI.

Public & private actors · climate & environment · applied research.

Method before tooling.

The same standard, from framing the need to validation in the field. Methods chosen because they hold up — transparent, documented, reproducible.

Scientific rigour

Every deliverable builds on the state of the art and on validated, documented, reproducible methods. The reasoning is explicit, the limits owned.

Numerical methods & AI

Data science, spatial modelling, computer vision, foundation models. I match the method to the problem — not the loudest ones.

A complete deliverable

A turnkey solution, deployed and ready to use. Hands-on workshops extend the delivery: your team builds skills and gains autonomy.

What I can do for you.

Working first and foremost for the climate and the environment — public and private actors alike — and useful wherever data informs a decision.

Spatial modelling

Turning geographic and territorial data into maps, models and indicators that inform a decision.

Data engineering

Structuring, hardening and automating heterogeneous data — databases, pipelines, dashboards, bespoke tools — and raising your processes and teams in autonomy and performance.

Computer vision

Putting images and large datasets to work to detect, classify and predict — as close as possible to your need.

Concrete work, in the field.

Real problems, handled end to end — in the service of the climate and the environment.

2022 OFB — French Guiana

Spatial modelling of hunting pressure

A study of hunters' dispersal patterns along the French Guianese coast, carried out with the OFB. Starting from a research paper, I adapted and deployed the model (circuit theory) in Singularity containers to generate the hunting-pressure maps.

From need to deliverable, built into your workflows.

A Mines engineer, I put data science, spatial modelling and AI to work on climate and environmental challenges — alongside public and private actors alike. I don't hand over an isolated tool : I build methods and tools that fit into your workflows and outlast a single engagement. From the framing of the need to your team's autonomy.

  1. Your need framed in the field
  2. Rigorous method validated, reproducible
  3. Integrated tool into your existing workflows
  4. Autonomy your team takes over

Let's talk about your need.

An engagement, a collaboration, a methodological question? I reply within 48 hours.
